It gives me great pleasure to introduce our association in this website, being a complete overview about our Business Aviation Industry.
MEBAA started with 16 founding members and today stands at above 100 members, and we are confident that the figure will rise to over 300 by 2012. The Middle East region is undoubtedly becoming a major economical power centre which puts MEBAA in the right time and place.
MEBAA enjoyed the first of what is sure to be many successful events in the January 31- February 1, 2007 MEBA event, which showcased over 90 exhibitors, 31 static aircraft and was attended by over 2400 visitors from around the globe. MEBA event 2008, which is to be held in November 16-18, is already shaping up to be an even greater success.
MEBA 2008 ends on a high!
With more than 5,500 trade visitors and a total of more than $1.5bn worth of deals announced at the three-day event, MEBA 2008 closed on an exceptional high!
The exhibition presented more than 70 aircraft worth $1.6bn on the dedicated static park as well as two hundred and fifty exhibitors from 30 countries attended and dozens of partnerships were struck between Western and Middle Eastern companies. With so many deals and announcements during MEBA 2008, we can be assured that the market is growing.
MEBA 2008 was 3 times bigger than the 2007 edition which assures the industry that there is a lot of confidence in the market.
With yet another successful MEBA, the outlook for MEBA 2010 is very promising. The event's momentum promises to continue and will most certainly ensure an even bigger and better show in 2 years time.
MEBAA is determined to take business aviation further up the economic and political agenda in this region and to ensure it receives its rightful share of voice in decision-making processes.
MEBAA will be the industry forum which will express the needs of operators responsible for approximately 320 business aircraft currently based in the region, with a considerable fleet increase anticipated. The Association will be a single point of contact for presenting the face of business aviation to government, media and industry. It will also be the means by which the regional business aviation community will address government legislations and raise public perceptions of the industry.
We have set to ourselves start-up goals, including the setting up of an industry data-bank which has been so long lacking in the Middle East. We will share best practices, implement effective communications strategies, improve members’ welfare through training and conferences and establish a regional industry code of conduct.
